Planki Wax started as a product from a previous business I had. We wanted to make wooden cutting boards to sell on my online shop. We had the cutting boards made but had to find something to treat it with. The existing products in the shops were too expensive so we had to develop our own.

The cutting-board sales never took off. We decided to bottle and barcode the wax, which we took to our local hardware shop. We later started adding more products to our range, the Planki Oil and Planki Leather Conditioner. In 2021 we decided to close down our original online store and just run with Planki Wax (PTY) Ltd.
